← The Ultimate Guide to Vacationing on 30A
Vacation mornings on 30A are one of my favorite things. The beach is quiet. The air is still cool. And breakfast — done right — sets the tone for everything that follows.

The Perfect Pig — the clear first choice from Seagrove
The Perfect Pig is a short walk from our condo in Seagrove Beach and the breakfast spot I recommend to every guest without qualification. Locally sourced ingredients, genuinely good cooking, and the kind of relaxed service that fits a beach morning perfectly. The line on weekend mornings is real — particularly in summer — but it moves, and the food is worth the wait.

If I’m only in Seagrove for a weekend, at least one morning starts here. On longer stays, I’ve found myself going two or three times in a week and not regretting it.
Saturday mornings: the Seaside Farmers Market
Every Saturday morning, the Seaside Amphitheater hosts a farmers market — local producers, baked goods, fresh produce, prepared foods. It’s a fifteen-minute walk from Seagrove, operates year-round, and offers a genuinely different breakfast experience. Browse and graze with a coffee rather than sitting down to a full meal. The quality of what you find varies week to week but is reliably good.
The Donut Hole
A 30A breakfast tradition for decades. The Donut Hole has been making breakfast in the Fort Walton Beach direction for long enough that it qualifies as a regional institution. It’s not walking distance from Seagrove — you need a car — but if you’re making a grocery run or a day trip in that direction, stopping at The Donut Hole is worth the detour. They sell out. Arrive early.
Coffee
For coffee specifically, Bad Ass Coffee in Grayton Beach is a regular stop — a short drive from Seagrove with genuinely good coffee and the kind of beach-town vibe that fits a morning perfectly. Several of the Seaside restaurants also serve coffee and pastries for a lighter start.
Tim’s actual morning routine
Most mornings I’m on the beach before breakfast — it’s the quietest hour and the light is extraordinary. Then: Perfect Pig if we’re going out, or cooking at the condo if we’re staying in. The kitchen at Leeward is well-equipped for a proper breakfast. Eggs, bacon, toast — everything you need is there, plus a coffee maker that works.
