Seagrove is where we chose to buy in 2008. Here is an honest description of what the place is actually like.
Old 30A — before the master plans
Seagrove is one of the oldest communities on 30A. It predates the master-planned developments like Seaside and WaterColor by decades. The result is a neighborhood that feels organic rather than designed — homes and condos at lower density, mature trees, a quieter energy than the communities to the west.
The beach
Same white quartz sand and emerald water as everywhere on 30A — but with fewer people. The absence of a large resort hotel or commercial center keeps foot traffic lower than Seaside or WaterColor, even at peak season. Our stretch — 200 feet of private shoreline shared by nine units — rarely feels crowded.
Eastern Lake
Eastern Lake is steps from the condo. It is one of 30A’s rare coastal dune lakes — a body of freshwater that periodically outfalls directly into the Gulf. These lakes exist in very few places in the world. Kayaking, paddleboarding, and wildlife watching are all easy from the lake’s edge.
Location within 30A
Seagrove sits between Seaside (15-20 minutes on foot, 5 minutes by bike) and WaterColor. You are close enough to Seaside to use it — the restaurants, the farmers market, the town square — without being in the middle of the traffic that comes with it. That balance is one of the reasons we chose Seagrove over everywhere else on 30A.
