← The Ultimate Guide to Vacationing on 30A
If you’re only going to rent one thing during your 30A vacation, make it bikes. The Timpoochee Trail changes how the entire stretch of coast feels — and it’s one of those things that sounds nice in a description but turns out to be genuinely transformative once you’re on it.

The Timpoochee Trail
The Timpoochee Trail is a paved multi-use path that runs nearly the full length of Scenic Highway 30A — from Inlet Beach in the east to Dune Allen Beach in the west, with some gaps. It’s wide enough for families to ride side by side, generally separated from vehicle traffic, and passes through or near all the major 30A communities.
From Seagrove Beach, riding west to Seaside takes about five minutes. Continuing to Grayton Beach takes another twenty. Rosemary Beach in the east is a longer ride but completely doable. Most guests who rent bikes for a week find themselves using them daily — for breakfast runs, evening rides, and exploring communities they wouldn’t have visited otherwise.

Rental options
Several bike rental companies operate along 30A, including Big Fish Bike Rentals and Wheel Fun Rentals in Seaside. Most offer standard beach cruisers, kids’ bikes, and e-bikes. Delivery to your rental property is available from most companies, which saves the trip to a rental shop at the start of your vacation.
Rental periods range from half-day to week-long. For a stay of four days or more, a week rental is almost always worth it on a per-day basis.
Tim’s perspective
I’ve rented bikes on nearly every 30A trip for two decades. The routine of riding to breakfast, back to the beach, out to Seaside for dinner — it turns 30A from a place you’re visiting into a place you’re inhabiting for a week. That distinction matters more than it sounds.
One practical note: there’s a bike rack at Leeward Unit 2, right on site. If you’re renting bikes for delivery, the condo is a convenient drop point and the Timpoochee Trail is immediately accessible from the property.
